POS[T]RTUTH Society is a nonpartisan AUBG student club. The club aims to awaken society's political and social engagement by preparing the future generation of leaders in the fields of civic society, politics, and journalism. The club publishes in-depth analyses of political, social, and economic issues in Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, and Central and South America. Moreover, it aims to use students ’ abilities in initiatives that will result in a change on campus and in Blagoevgrad.

Faculty Adviser

Mihail Mishev is the founder of the club.

He double majored in Political Science and Psychology.

​

Mihail worked as an intern at the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria, as a project consultant for OSCE, and in the development of the Republic of Bulgaria's National Strategy for Roma Equality, Inclusion, and Participation (2021-2030).

 

He is also the founder of Foundation Opre Roma for Community Empowerment (FORCE).

Blagovesta Sahatchieva is the Treasurer of the club. She is a Sophomore double majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication and Political Science.

Blagovesta was a member of Interact Club Blagoevgrad from 2019 to 2021. She also participated briefly in ABS (Active Bulgarian Society) in 2021.

​

She graduated from the Foreign Language High School in Blagoevgrad with German as her first language and has a C1 proficiency certificate.

Prof. Evelina Kelbetcheva is a Professor at the American University in Bulgaria. Prof. Kelbetcheva has a PhD in History and History of Culture Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

 

She teaches the following courses:

- Falsifications in History

- Modern Europe

- Civilizations at the Crossroads: The Bulgarian Case

Kalina Dimova is the Vice-President of the club. She is a Freshman, majoring in International Relations.

​

Kalina was a Char Head of HRC at the Model United Nations' club simulation 2023.

​

Kalina is interested in European and Asian politics.
